Perhaps a bit contrived, and perhaps a bit over the top in terms of believable maniacal characters, but nonetheless some riviting scenes and disturbing ideas make this novel worth the read. It has some interesting points to make regarding the human condition to struggle, to have hope during hopelessness, and, in a visceral way, how we give meaning to our lives.
