A very raw memoir about what it's like have a small child with a terrible mental illness. Some of the decisions the parents made were shockingly wrong: they had a second child because their daughter wanted them to (I'm not kidding), and then, inevitably, they spent the next two years trying to keep her from injuring the baby. They didn't find a new home for the family dog even though she punched it repeatedly. They took her off medications before they were supposed to. But heck, in a case like this, who on earth would know WHAT to do? Plenty of families would just give her up to the state. Props to them for at least trying, I guess.

M Your review is spot on, in my opinion! Felt the exact same way and also gave it a 3.
