really liked it

** spoiler alert ** I enjoyed the humorous account of a dysfunctional family and how they pull together and define the meaning of family.

George - distant, insists he has cancer and decides to operate on it himself. Very fearful of dying.

Jean, his wife, having an affair with David a coworker of George before George retired

Katie - tempestuous daughter who is about to marry for a second time to Ray whom everyone finds inappropriate

Ray - the fiancee who doesn't measure up to family standards - not good enough

Jamie - gay son who ruins his relationship because he refuses to invite Tony to wedding. Family is uncomfortable about gay son.

Tony walks when he is shunned regarding the wedding.

George's "operation" and the aftermath define the meaning of family for the characters.
