really liked it

This book was recommended to me by my English teacher in high school. Quite frankly it scared the crap out of me. Ten years later I still remember moments from this book like they were scenes in a horror film... I remember reminding myself that this was a fictional account of his life, as told by a white man. It never made reading it any easier, and in fact I think it made it worse.

Although it has been my intention to reread it since the moment I put it down, I find myself pretending it doesn't exist when I stumble across it in a bookstore. For those who are thoroughly disgusted by the hate that people act out upon each other, this will be a difficult read.
