really liked it

Intelligently written collection of short stories. The man knows what he is doing. Like many short stories, I found the end of some to be overly abrupt and not wholly satisfying, but I can forgive all of that because of his tour de force "Wild Child", the title story in the collection. What a fascinating, well-researched, heart-breaking, completely involving story. In this story, Boyle manages to write with a convincing period voice that adds to the depth of a true story of human perseverance, resilience, and bittersweet acceptance. Highly recommended.
