After my first book read of this I was not sure I would pick up another. I am glad I did.
Did not like Thorne is earlier book. I like him in this one. Roane builds a complete 3 dimensional character in Roane. We see his stuggles and his doubts, also his strengths. This was so different from the previous book I read that was lacking this character development. Marguerite evan grew on me. After all that she has suffered in her life it is easy to see why she wants freedom. Their world is full of conflicting elements. Is this a new story idea. No. There are elements of J R Ward, of Bangs, of others. Many done better, but this was still an entertaining book that I enjoyed reading.
