I am a sucker for epistolary novels. I like time travel stories that create a understandable past world. And this book is both. It's also lots of fun, and well written.

I didn't like Siege Perilous so I am really glad I did not know this was the same author (using a pseudonym) before I got this one and the previous book in the series The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O.

Looking forward to a sequel if there ever is one.
