This is a “love it or hate it” kind of book. The entire first half won’t make any sense unless you’ve been at least Quite Online on the Bird App, and I suspect if you weren’t Very Online for parts of 2019 and 2020 there’s a lot that will sail right over your head. It’s written in a fragmented, vignette-y style which works very well for the content, but is another thing I know some won’t care for. The second half has a clear narrative arc, but retains the structural approach. Given what’s happening at that point I think it works well there, too. I think you need to go into this with a sense of what you’re getting into; I read a few pages, set it aside, and started over the next day and settled in quickly.
