It wasn’t until I finished this that I realized there wasn’t a lot of plot. But I don’t think it suffers for that too much. There’s a precipitating event, and three people are thrown into a situation that none of them are really ready for. What we see is how they begin to navigate it. This captured the whiplash of how you might feel about a major life event, layering on all of the additional emotions and expectations that come with being trans (or having detransitioned). It’s essentially a character study, which I like. YMMV if you don’t.
