did not like it

I just got this book yesterday downloaded to Kindle and I returned it to Kindle today for a refund. I have read all the books by Laura Wright and liked all of them but this one. For Me rape and beating a women nearly to death is not romantic. I think Laura might be taken her story line in a direction that I personally don't like.

Jhg Hmmm...I read this book too. I'm confused now. The rape is a flashback from when Dillon was young, and the beating thing was by the Senator/enemy guy who she worked for...and both were clearly meant to be horrible & traumatic, not romantic. There are no sexy scenes with this. I'm confused!

Edwina " I LoveBooks" "Deb" I know it was a flashback but it happen and we read it. I am sick of reading about abuse to women flashbacks or not. A beating is a beating. Have you ever volunteered or been around an abused women. If women don't take up for women than who will??? I have been reading Mark of The Vampire series since the release of Eternal Hunger in 2010 and enjoyed them. I thought this serieswas listed as paranormal romance. I didn't realize it had changed to just paranormal horror. I read tons of paranormal romance suspense and horror and the authors I read don't write abuse or they let you know that the book has this type of content. One author is Laurann Dohner. I was like you once and didn't mind this type of book, but with the rise in abuse to women and volunteering it has changed my mind and I like I said in my review For Me I don't want to read it. Their are a lot of readers who have stopped reading books with this kind of content. I hope this helps your confusion.
