it was ok
bookshelves: listened

This is the first Hillerman I have read - listened to actually as an unabridged novel. Characters are interesting, but I found myself drifting off in his long 3rd person narrative, which speaks all of Joe's thoughts. Can't even imagine reading that, let alone listening to it. And a bit unbelievable he lived through some of his travails. I'll give another a try, but not thinking it is a series I'll become attached to - unlike millions of other readers. And this despite my travels in AZ and NM for business. I can understand his appeal, just does not do it for me.
