really liked it

Was umming and erring on whether to give this 3 or 4 stars, but since I read it in the space of a day I must have quite liked it!

As almost all of the summaries of this book say, it is very much of the 'Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy' genre. I don't think it's as good, but it's a fun read. Combining comedy sci-fi with copyright law with music (and the music industry) with New York City geography / culture with big NY law firms with american politics is not an obvious mix, but Rob Reid pulls it off. The writing is somewhat basic, but that works for a book of this type, plus it made it very easy to read it no time.

It also has a lot of fun cultural references (many of which are going to age), especially for NYC locals like myself. Beyond NY, look out for things like someone throwing in the line 'the cake is a lie' (from the video game Portal). I'm sure there are many I didn't pick up too.

A good beach read for the geek who likes sci-fi and music.
