really liked it

A surprising and touching book - part memoir of loss, part nostalgia for a particular brand of British horror, and part birding travelogue. Consciously, I think, drawing on WG Sebald’s Rings of Saturn to tell a story of time and place that is, when necessary, more emotionally true than objectively true. Would heartily recommend.
