This Count came from Haiti - a shithole country, according to the racist-in-chief. I also take a moment to remember the 2010 earthquake, and take pause as to reflect why US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico are being ignored.

Gerry Hi Bettie

If only I had known there was a real Count of Monte Cristo, my childhood may have been changed!

I didn't know there was such a person. I look forward to your review in due course.

Hayes Ditto, Wanda.

Laura I'm thinking about this one, I'm not sure it's worth reading it.

message 6: by Pat (new) - rated it 5 stars

Pat 5 stars from Bettie?! This is a MUST read.

Laura Agreed!!!

Bettie☯ I loved it - more enthralling than a lot of the fiction I've been reading recently.

It would be fair to say that it has been a blue ribbon non-fiction year for me.
:O)

Hayes Oh yeah!

Bettie☯ Hayes wrote: "Oh yeah!"

nose-to-the-page good

Bettie☯ Laura wrote: "Agreed!!!"

I kept thinking in blurb fashion:

this started off with a blown safe, and then it blew my mind

yeah yeah - over-dramatise much, Bettie!?
haha

Bettie☯ I have been looking into the Swann Family Saga by Delderfield for 2013:

Bettie☯ - I found some used copies at reasonable price at gggggggggr! (aka amazon)

The title of the first book has always been off-putting and as such, my excuse for not diving in before now.

Laura I got the first book of the Swann Family Saga, at Bookmooch. I may send to you after I've read it.

Bettie☯ Sorry Laura - just seen your last two comments now. It looks juicy alright!
