I think this was a pretty good YA book. Just a few pages in, I was turned off by the fantasies the 15 year old main character was having about her crush. Thankfully, there wasn't any fantasizing, really, after the first few pages and nothing more than some age-appropriate make out sessions later in the book. I do think younger readers (teens) will enjoy this book, as an older reader, while I did enjoy the story, my main issue was that I didn't feel like the characters reacted to life-changing events realistically. I will probably read the next book in the series, possibly more.

It feels wrong reading about a kid fantasizing about grabbing a handful of her crush's hair and holding his body against hers. I'm really hoping Zellie turns out to be a lot older. Otherwise I don't know if I can continue reading."
2.0% "I just read the book description (I hate reading them before reading the book bc I would rather go into the book without expectations. ) So, the kid is 15. Hopefully there's not a lot more of this fantasizing stuff bc it just feels wrong. Way too sexual for me. (Don't get me wrong, I'm not a prude . I don't mind reading sexy stuff. But just not from a 15 yr old's perspective. )"
