I won this book through a goodreads giveaway.

If I were younger, I would definitely have enjoyed this book a lot. It is fun and quirky while dealing with serious issues like grief and kidnapping. I have never read the Series of Unfortunate Events books as they came out a little late for my age group but I can imagine the narration of The Templeton Twins to be in a similar vein as other reviewers have pointed out. The snark and sarcasm would probably appeal to middle school age readers, with the subtle (or not so subtle) pokes at the school system with ridiculous review questions at the end of each chapter.

Definitely not a book that will be enjoyed by all (especially older readers) but light and fun enough for those who still enjoy interspersing their James Joyce and Faulkner with Daniel Handler and Eoin Colfer.
