I really wanted to give this story higher marks. I think with another round or two of editing, it would have been a five-star story. It has romance, mystery, tension, and just about everything I crave in a story. The beginning chapters moved a little fast. I felt rushed in trying to get to know the main character Eve. Once she met up with our hero, I was pretty much hooked. Nice setup for conflict and mystery that held my interest throughout the middle part. It dragged a bit toward the end and I found myself skimming to get to the climax, which ended up being good.

Lots of grammar issues and typos to maneuver through, which I found distracting. Even with the slow parts, I probably would have given this four stars but for this. I really don’t mind a couple typos in a story. These days, it’s hard to find any book without them. This one had too many to keep track of, which at times made it hard to figure out what was being said. The story is good enough that I would advise the author to pull it until she could pass it by an editor, or at least a good proofreader. All in all, a good romance that has the potential to be excellent. I’ll be checking out more books by Lynn Rhys
