This book was just as enjoyable as Fun Home. And by "enjoyable," I mean: well-written, introspective, analytical, complex and thought-provoking. I had never read Dykes to Watch Out For more than a handful of time before reading these two volumes but their quality makes me want to seek them out sooner rather than later. If you have complex relationships with your family beyond love/hate, Alison Bechdel's memoirs will give you plenty to think about. One of the most interesting aspects of her writing is that sharing her story doesn't provide an escape or drown out your own history but rather brings it to the surface for you to think about in new ways -- a remarkable achievement in memoir.
