did not like it
bookshelves: non-fiction

I love true crime. But this one was a dud. And I know the author is supposed to be the main newspaper guy who wrote about it in the papers, but even so the research and interviews seemed limited. i dunno, maybe i'm too harsh. But lately it seems that true crime books are written really well or just plain hack.

Laura I think that's right, actually -- there's always been that dichotomy in true crime.

why is that? and it seems to me, not always mind, but usually the ones with lots of pictures are the ones with the worse writing. and the ones that are obviously researched and written well are the ones with no pictures.

Dear True Crime Writers,
I'm not asking for the world with a fence around it. I just want a carefully researched, well-written account of murder... with a picture or two.
Thank you for your time.
