really liked it

There are some good tales in this little book, characters you imagine appear in the old television program Northern Exposure, with the author as a parka-clad Joel. A history, a surprising wealth of knowledge of our ursine friends, and a well-meaning community of folks who may have been stuck with some bad ideas. Hongoltz-Hetling for the most part leaves those judgements to the reader. This read may give you a few new notions about people. And bears.
