it was amazing

This was a compelling memoir. It opened my eyes to the reality of domestic abuse. The transcripts of phone calls between Tretheway's mother and stepdad are absolutely chilling. Tretheway, a poet, has crafted a lyrical and emotional memoir. Listening to it was a pleasure, but I think I would rather read it to really let the lyricism sink in.
