"I was scared to start this book because I knew that I wanted to give it my full attention.. I really want to enjoy this. I was also a bit nervous about the length.. but it turns out like HALF of this book is notes/introduction by another man. BASICALLY I'VE STARTED AND I'M FEELING GOOD." 4 comments |

"Have you ever just taken your sweet time with a book? Like eating a piece of cake nice and slowly? I'm doing this right now and my god is every bite of this book beyond delicious. Also, can we talk about how great an entrance Gatsby got?!" 2 comments |

Fernando: You'll love it!Raeleen: INORITE?! It was perfect! Now I want to read Beautiful Creatures.. but it's packed away on a boat somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico.. GAHH.
I find it fascinated how I can simultaneously not really like any of the characters and still love the book and story. You get to understand them and why they do what they do. That along with the beautiful writing and description of the world made me fall in love with it. Even though I didn't really like the characters, some how I cared for them and that made the story even more heart breaking in the best way possible!
I see where you were moved by the book as it resembles hope and dreams and the idea of imagining life as the ideal American Dream; however, Fitzgerald shows to all of his readers that hope and gazing in a fake wonderland of eternal perfection and accomplishment is merely that- a dream.
