liked it

I have to say that the worst thing about a book like this is the flippin cliffhanger at the end!!! I loved the first book of this series, maybe a little too much. I say this because this book was nowhere near my expectations. It was pretty much set around a military-like savage group building a bridge into "good guy land" as I like to call it. Hence the title, it's the rangers' job to burn down their progress, but some obstacles need to be evaded before they can. The whole burning attempt sequence was a little too long for my liking. Unfortunately, after reading this book, I didn't read the rest of the series. Maybe I will one day. Or not. Well see.
