I read this book because I liked The Late Show, my first-ever book by this author, and I noticed that the follow-up book involves Harry Bosch, the star of Connelly's long-running series of which this is the first installment. Though I like Connelly's writing, it took me 2 hours of the audiobook to get interested in the story. I don't think I would have liked it if I hadn't already read something else by him. I did appreciate gaining insight into this character, though, as it will help me understand Dark Sacred Night better.
