Light and Leaven: The Challenge of the Laity in the Twenty-First Century

A quick read that covers a lot of ground. What impressed me most is that it is written in very plain language. Bp Strickland provides a very straightforward accounting of his stands on various issues, areas in which he can improve, and how he sees the state of the Church and his brother bishops. He speaks much about the liturgy and how it can be improved in part I (Light) and about the centrality of the Eucharist (appropriate for part II: Leaven). He is not harsh but he is not afraid to criticize what and whom he believes deserves it. I appreciated this frank book.
