Well, bleep. I wanted to love this one. I really bleeping did. Truly. It had it all - new and interesting characters, lovable old characters, a nice tight world, lots of humor, sarcasm and plain old snark. But it just felt like it was draaaaaaagggggiiiinnnnngggg on. Endlessly is how I felt reading it - as in, it's never going to end no matter that I've known the ending since the second chapter.

It truly pains me to say this, too. I love Evie. Adore her. But her unpredictable ways became predictable. Lend somehow was relegated to an almost non-existant formulaic love interest. Reth didn't even have his usual spark. I still want to smack the bleep out of Jack though. And while I did enjoy some aspects of it, overall, I just wanted to finish it. That's not the way I wanted Evie to be lain to rest...I wanted her (and this series) to go out with a bleeping bang! One to make it unforgettable. For me, it went out with a slight whimper. So sad.
