Although not a page-turner, this book is very interesting. The main character is a retired linguistics professor who is dealing with increasing deafness, an aging marriage, an elderly father, and a wacko grad student. A little trip to Poland adds a little historical info about Auschwicz (sp?). Smooth reading, good insight.
