it was amazing

This, ladies and gentlemen, is how it's done. Nansi Kunze has penned something fantastic and I've become an instant fan.

Kunze's writing style flows beautifully. Her dialogue is snappy and spot-on for the age of the characters, and her descriptive narative is flawless. There's just the right amount of teen sarcasm - enough to keep you hungrily turning the pages, but not so much that you think everyone in the book is a jaded snark-aholic.

The plot is simple and delightfully told in first person by the year 11 protagonist Penelope. There's plenty of teen angst and drama thrown in without it becoming cringeworthy and there aren't too many twists and red herrings to spoil the ride.

I didn't want the book to end. If you're looking for a perfect example of how to write a Young Adult Urban Sci-fi novel, pick up Mishaps.
