This slim volume of essays/sketches is an enjoyable romp through the mind of a quirky writer whose humorous take on life, especially history, truly tickles my funny bone (most of the time). I too live for interesting historical factoids, and I find I have similar sentiments (especially political), so it is often a delight reading her work. There is an imp inside me who often responds the same way she does to idiotic statements or historical deceit. I am in awe and am humbled that she (and others as well) are able to expresses similar beliefs and observations in a way I only wish I could. I loved the statement: "The more history I learn, the more the world fills up with stories." Not all the essays are history related, as she brings in a lot of commentary on herself and her family as well.
