it was ok

The title is great and caught my attention. The content was not entirely what I expected.

It gave several examples of Wal-Mart, Apple, Microsoft, Dell, Starbucks, etc. to show where these companies started with a why and as leadership changed, moved to what. When the organization does this, it is no longer about the "cause" which got them on the scene. It becomes more about the dollar and pleasing shareholders. Some of these companies brought back their leaders to reinstill the Why. Some like AOL completely lose the why and become stale, leading to them becoming an industry joke.

This book wasn't bad, but it wasn't impressive. I was looking for more how to develop my Why, not how companies lost their Why.
