I started reading Jennifer Crusie in college because my roomate was very, very into romance novels. Crusie often takes the genre into actual storytelling, which is refreshing considering most of those books are, let's say, not about the story. Manhunting is Crusie's first novel. The plot is as follows--a woman goes to a five star resort looking for the perfect man (read smart, funny, and rich) with whom to settle. True to most stereotypical love stories, she ends up getting a bit more than she bargained for.
This book is a nice bit of fluff. The story is very funny and cute, and the main character actually changes slightly by the end. That being said, the ending is extremely predictable (par for the course), and the book isn't exactly intellectually engaging. The verdict? Read this book if you're looking for a fun, frivolous break from everyday life.
