Everyone's love story is written with a different pen, and there is no such thing as a "straight road to romance". There is always a curve in the road somewhere, and it often comes up suddenly and sharply. "Willow Springs", from author Toni Blake, is a friends-to-lovers story that is not without some trying twists and turns. Amy Bright is a matchmaker who has yet to make her own match. Logan Whitaker, her lifelong friend, is the only man for Amy, but he seems to be the impossible dream. However, when a tragedy occurs in Logan's work as a firefighter, fate steps in and gives Amy a nudge in Logan's direction. Unable to shake off the grief he feels over the loss of life in a terrible house fire that he fought to bring under control, Logan begins a alcohol-infused downward spiral. Amy cannot bear to see the friend she loves in such pain, so she does her best to look out for him and help him come back to himself. When a comforting hug between them leads to a passionate kiss, both of them are shaken to the core. Logan tries to brush off the kiss as a result of his drinking, and Amy is left confused and hurt. She very much wants him to return to the "good guy" who means so much to her, so she launches a plan for his redemption. In true matchmaker style, Amy begins to send Logan anonymous love letters, written with great emotion and passion. Adding to the conflicts in Logan's life is the return of a woman from the past. Who is the woman sending him such heartfelt messages? Will he choose the right woman, and make the match of a lifetime? Familiar friends and new directions are both found in this fifth book in the "Destiny" series from author Toni Blake.
