This story follows Jim and Garth, a young boy trying to fit in and another who loves Book of Mormon history. They, along with Jim's younger sister, find a passage to ancient Mesoamerica and the time of Book of Mormon heroes like Helaman and Teancum. The young trio are thrown into fictionalized renditions of actual Book of Mormon stories.
I think this book is a fun way to introduce the Book of Mormon to young readers. I had heard these on tape as a young boy and wanted to actually read it. I did not enjoy it as much as I had remembered but Jim is a great protagonist that will be fun to follow in the rest of the series if I can track all these books down! Definitely for a Mormon audience.
