Parts of this book were very well written, but I found other parts frustrating. Card really gets into the heads of the main character women in this story, he would probably have been an excellent psychologist, priest, or bartender). Unfortunately he resorts to some disingenuous plot funny business; to make the women look intelligent and effective he sometimes makes men, who were otherwise very saavy, into simpletons and outright dolts. So he really impressed me with how well he could get into the heads of the women, and he really lost me when he couldn't find a way to make the women look good except at the expense of the men. Still the writing was overall very good so I gave him 4 stars.

If you were brought up Christian and would like a plausible fleshing out of this Biblical story I think you'll find this to be a respectful and entertaining treatment of the subject.
