It's a revamping of the Batman universe. What's different? No fantasty, no camp, no bright colors, nothing out of the realm of our regular world. Basically, they stripped the comic out of the comic and, like many modern remakes, just wanted to gritty "reality" of the story.

I might complain with other comics, but Batman isn't based on mutant science or magic. So stripping down his nemisis doesn't really change much. Except there's no fun. It's darker. Yes, yes, he's the Dark Knight. But this goes a bit too far one way. Batmans' helpers in this are the most drastic in their changes. I won't spoil a thing because it's a short book that's worth picking up.

Artistically, yay. The page where Dent sees the truth of the main sicko in the book- a full page of reaction face- holy crap. I just stared at that expression. What an artist.
