Instead, they seem to have done what time-servers do in every autocracy that punishes honest failure: they did nothing at all, and hoped the problem would go away.
The more of the book I read, the more I wanted to continue reading it. I couldn't stop and finished the last third in one sitting before finally succumbing to sleep on Friday evening. The Spy and the Traitor is an exhilarating thriller, made more incredible because the story actually happened. I can easily recommend the book to anyone interested even a little in the book's premise (trilling Cold War spy story about a KGB double agent).
