I thought the premise of this book was flawed. She started with absolutely NOTHING-no car, no place to live, no money, no support group (family, friends) and then tried to earn a living on a minimum wage salary. Of course it was impossible! Most people who have to support themselves on minimum wage didn't just drop from the sky with nothing. They can at least live with parents, friends, a relative or somewhere until they can earn enough money for a car or a first and last month deposit on an apartment. Then you get a roommate to help split the bills. It can be done. I know because I have done it. I didn't accrue any credit card debt, and I managed to save a little money, too. I am glad I didn't have to do it forever, but it can be done!
