Seven Black Diamonds (Seven Black Diamonds, #1)

Seven Black Diamonds caught my attention right away. It was a much needed change from the educational reference books of late. Fantasy, love story, young teen would fit the overall genre of the book. It has some strong characters but they do not grow much from beginning to end. That being said, the main character Lily is likable. A teenager whose father is the head of a powerful crime family is sent to a private boarding school. The reason for this is not quite clear (I dont think). She immediately becomes close friends with a group of wealthy classmates. They share a secret to their true birth identities which could get them imprissoned or worse.
The whole story takes place over a couple of days. There really is no building of or resolution to the plot. It just happens then the book ends. It is a good light read. However, with more character development it would have had the potential to become a popular series.
