Quit before the end of Chapter 3.

Somehow, despite ghosts, a sexual interest, a robbery, and a murder within those three chapters, there was too little forward movement to distract me from brainhurts such as:

dark and blazing, yet at the same time icy

His touch was strangely magnetic. It both attracted and repelled me.

I could barely make out his features, but I knew instinctively that he was handsome and brooding.

This thing done.
What a portentous turn of phrase.

Earlier, I'd thought his dark good looks had a fallen angel quality


No. No, you didn't. I've been reading your thoughts this whole time, and that wasn't one of them. I checked.

When I'm re-reading so I can call the narrator a liar, it's over.
