Honestly not my most favorite in the Argeneau series to date. Having read several books in the series, I was expecting to dive back in to the quirky characters. Instead, in an apparent escape from her norm, Sands treats us to a somber story. Very little on the romance, but heavy on the love. Although I greatly enjoyed the book and thought the main characters obviously were made for each other, I couldn't help but miss the humorous banter I've come to expect from Sands' characters in previous books.
