Loved it. Darkness before Dawn was a dystopian vampire novel, centered around Dawn. At the death of her parents Dawn is chosen to be the new delegate between the vampire overlord and the human people of her city, a position she cannot refuse. Valentine is a vicious creature, who's main goal is to ensure he receives the blood he wants. As the ruling vampire the welfare of the humans in his city is supposed to be of highest priority. Supposed to be.
The night before Dawn's first solo meeting with Valentine she goes to a party near the wall with her best friend Tegan. Her boyfriend Michael, a Night Watchman in training isn't there, it's supposed to be a fun girls night out. That doesn't exactly go to plan. After rescuing her friend from a sticky situation the girls are trying to get home when it becomes apparent the other people on their transport, aren't actually people at all. They're vampires. Enter Victor.
I really enjoyed this book. Dawn is smarter and stronger willed than she realizes. Michael is very sweet, if a little sensitive. Tegan is the dive straight into trouble best friend. And Victor...well he's an enigma. Can't wait for the next book to come out. :)
