it was amazing

The novel mostly based in research, letters, and a writer’s prerogative, was so well done, the characters came to life. The story drew on my emotions, from deep sadness to her fond memories, to anger and forgiveness.

In today’s culture, Mrs. Hamilton would be viewed as a milk-toast doormat. But she was not. She was politically astute and uncommonly pro-active as a genteel woman of the times.

There were a few instances where the authors backtracked to events they already covered. It interrupted the flow.

But the book made me look up biographies of Lafayette, Aaron Burr, her sister, and Thomas Jefferson.
