** spoiler alert ** I love the dystopian content of this book. There were parts of the story that could have been more developed, namely Mercerism, and with 100 more pages, I think this could have still been the engaging story it was.

Though I understand that this book was more philosophy than action, I was disappointed with how easily Deckard took down the androids. The 'impossible task', as everyone continually refers to it, takes him what seems like a span of ten minutes. The super intelligent androids hardly raise a finger in their own defense, and while that in itself is an interesting issue, it makes the story weaker when that aspect isn't pursued.

That said, I hope more of Dick's books explore the empathy issue that continually came up in this one. There were so many issues in this short easy read that I'm compelled to know more.
