The follow up to his brilliant debut (Ghostwritten), number9dream takes its title from a John Lennon song off the Walls and Bridges album. Set in Japan, the young protagonist begins a quest to find his father and, so he believes, meaning in his life. Along the way, he will meet Yakuza gangsters, human organ dealers, and a host of other weird and wonderful characters. While possibly falling just a little short of the illustrious debut, number9dream is a psychedelic rollercoaster ride, well worth delving into.
