liked it

I found the first quarter of The Paris Wife to be so slow that I put the book aside for a month, but I'm glad I turned back to it and finished it. I was very taken with Hadley, horrified by Ernest, and enjoyed encountering all of the literary stars in Jazz Age Paris - which felt a little bit like watching Midnight in Paris. The writing isn't terrific, but I think McLain does a good job of capturing the love between them and how it twists as Hemingway rises in prominence.
