My Rating: 4.5 Stars!! I loved this book! I had never heard of Donaldina Cameron or paper daughters before I read this book, and I wish I had. Donaldina is a true American hero. She risked her life to rescue Chinese women and children from the brothels and gambling houses where they were enslaved. Donaldina spent most of her life caring for these women and keeping them safe. It's a sad, heartbreaking story, yet it is filled with hope, love, and caring. This book is very well written. It's fiction, but it's based on true people and events. The Paper Daughters of Chinatown is recommended for adult readers because the content and themes are heavy and too much for younger readers. You may read my full review on my book blog:
