What I learned from this book: people can be stupid.

Seriously. Read this one after the stupid 'Nantucket Nights' one, and I'm just completely fed up with characters who are flat-out stupid and devoid of even the most basic moral/maturity compass.

I'm going back to reading 'Winnie-the-Pooh' for characters with character.
