Life sucks and bad things happen to good people.
Remington Lassiter is an example of this from childhood to present times. He was abused by his father Dirk, almost to the point of death and his mother turned her back on him, then he almost dies in the last book Without Reservations (With or Without #2) so Jake Romero saves him by turning him into a werewolf. Jake kept the secret for months that Remi is his chosen mate although Remi isn't stupid and guess that something was happening because he couldn't control his were impulses whenever Jake was around.
Remi loves his younger brother Sterling and would do anything to keep him safe which is why he is so miserable being whatever his Abusive father wants him to be so Dirk won't touch Sterling. Of course that is just a time bomb waiting to explode and it does in the crazy finale.
I like the mythology of the story with Alpha's and Omega's and being able to shape shift at will. Lots of M/M sexy time but there is a caring relationship between the two and Remi wants to be a sub to Jake's Dom.
You meet Matt who will be in the next story With Abandon which was a good read too. I liked the first in the series best Chay and Keaton are awesome Without Reservations (With or Without #2)
220 pages and I bought this at the ARE site
