really liked it
bookshelves: young-adult, thriller, first-read

Won this book in a Goodreads giveaway! For young adults or those who love the same! Pulled me in from the moment the explosion occurred and the teacher died in front of David, the leading student-character. A little slow at the beginning....I almost put the book down. Glad I didn't. It is survival of the fittest or smartest at a high school which has been quarantined by a deadly virus to anyone not in puberty! Loved how normal high school students turn into total different people when the pressure is on. Loved the dynamics and quirkiness of David and his brother Will, the girl Lucy they both love, Sam the "evil" student/leader, and different gang members. The ending left me hanging in a good way and hungry to read the sequel now! If you loved the Hunger Games series, you will love this book! Some profanity, violent graphic scenes. My imagination was stretched with this book, would read it again just for that!
