An interesting look at synethesia, a condition I'd never heard of. Everything has a color to Mia, letters, numbers, words and since that's the way it's always been, she doesn't realize that everyone doesn't see the world that way. She finally meets up with others like her and when her colors suddenly go away when she suffers a trauma, she realizes what being 'normal' is like. I found it hard to believe that her parents weren't more supportive or even interested in learning about synesthesia but rather just wanted to 'cure' it.
